Our Mission

Diversify the Stand is dedicated to working with diverse musical voices to create accessible educational music.

Our Vision

We see inclusion in all aspects of the musical world. The future of music is the balance of representation - in the music we play to the careers we hold.

The future we see is a culture of musicians that program, teach, and research music because it’s great music - not to just check off boxes and build on tokenism and the deep-rooted systemic racism, classism, and sexism in the music world.

Our future includes composers being programmed and included in standard repertoire for their merit as composers, not just because of a physical trait.

Our Values

We value respect, consent, and transparency above all. We are building a community that is accepting and open-minded, and ready to listen for all voices to be heard and have a space at the table.

Physical Books

As of December 4, 2025, Diversify the Stand is now an Affiliated Publisher of Just a Theory Press! We are thrilled about this partnership, which will allow us to sell all of our collections globally and increase the reach and accessibility of these pieces! Our website will still be selling all digital books, and we are working to build cross-platform sales, but for now, physical orders are all streamlined through JATP!
